Hi, thanks for posting! See, I didn't really care for Guy Kibbee this time around as Hicks, he was a little too goofy for me here, probably accounting for most of our difference on this one. Still, a 2/4 from me isn't too bad, to me that's a worthwhile view, just not one I'm likely to repeat!

Thanks again, heading over to read your WW post!

I don't know, I thought The Dark Horse was a 3/4! The insight into politics still holds up, the guy who played Hicks was great, both the ladies were fantastic (yeah this wasn't BD's best performance, but when was she ever just s-so?) and William was awesome. From the first shot of him in prison, at a distance riling up the crowd, you knew he was going to be charasmatic, but he just draws you in wonderfully, charming, funny and a bit of a louse all at the same time. I loved it. This was my first WW movie, and I'm a fan. I've added your blog to my blog roll. I'll be posting about WW, later today.

Watched "The Dark Horse" on DVR last night. Well, I can see what it's considered a two-star movie as Bette Davis wasn't really anything special, and Guy Kibbee, who I like most of the time, was pretty annoying. That said, Warren William was stellar as always. It took about 10-15 minutes for him to show up, but once he did he took things over, both in the storyline and on the screen. In this type of role William can pretty much keep me giggling throughout the length of the story. I'd say, yes, 2 out of 4 stars for the picture, but a solid 3.5 for Warren William's performance!
